The South Adams County Water and Sanitation District provides water and wastewater services to the residents and businesses within the City of Commerce City. South Adams is a separate entity from the City and is governed by a five-member Board elected by the public that it serves.
Members of the Board of Directors are elected to serve by property owners and residents included within the South Adams service boundary. Directors are elected to serve a four-year term, with two-term limits. Board terms are staggered and elections are held every two years in May.
The next Board election will be held on May 6, 2014. There are three positions up for election. Directors Stevenson and Ford have served on the Board for two terms, and Director Kuchar (appointed to a vacant seat in December of 2012) is seeking his first elected term to the Board.
Attached is a copy of the official Call for Nominations Notice that was published in the District's Paper of Record that provides information regarding eligible electors who are interested in serving on the Board. Please contact the District's Designated Election Official, Sandra Schrawder at 720.206.0509 for additional information regarding eligibility and candidate nomination forms.
