[ARCHIVED] South Adams Water District Adopts Mandatory Water Conservation Measures

Due to lingering drought conditions, the Board of Directors for South Adams Water District adopted Resolution 13-003 on April 10, 2013, imposing a mandatory two-day per week water schedule for the remainder of 2013. Customers may decide which two days of their normal three-day (odd/even) water schedule that they want to water. The District asks that all of its customers water for the same amount of time per day on the two-day schedule that they would have on the three-day schedule, the goal being a reduction of 33% in outdoor watering.

Public Facilities (schools, parks, HOAs), the District asks for reduced water, but understand that more than two days per week may be required to maintain those high traffic areas. Additional water for those high traffic areas may be allowed based upon a District approved watering plan.

The District will encourage all users to wait until May 1, 2013 or later to start up irrigation systems.

The District encourages all new installation of sod and seed to be completed in April and May, or wait until fall. Summer installation may be approved by the District based on extenuating circumstances such as a pending certificate of occupancy or erosion control.
